刺繍をする時に刺繍枠用のスタンドはお使いですか？
イギリス製でいくつか型の異なるタイプのものがあります。これは下の台の部分を自分の腿の下に挟んで使うタイプ↓（私は机の上に置いて使っていますが….）
こちらはテーブルや机の板にはめて固定して使うタイプ↓
床にスタンドする大きいのもありますよね。スタンドを使うメリットの一つはハンズフリーになること。両手を使って刺繍することができ、糸の引き加減などの調整がやりやすく、整ったきれいなステッチを刺すことができます。
そして何よりも枠を持つ手が疲れない！
今日私がご紹介したいのは自分で作ったこちらです。
空き箱を包装紙で包み、その上に刺繍枠を置き、上に重りを乗せています。
イギリスの手芸屋でこのような重りが売っており、お店の人に「中身は砂場用の砂よ」と教えてもらいました。砂は入手しにくかったので私は塩で。約1・5kgあります。
横幅28cmくらいのフリーザーバッグに入れて（念のため二重にして）布でカバーしました。もう10年近く愛用していますが中から塩はもれてきていません。まだ……..
これが本当に便利なんです‼︎
刺繍枠のサイズを選びませんし、裏を返したり向きを変えたりするのがとても楽です！
空き箱でなくても厚めの本でも大丈夫。
